Gestures gestures gestures!!!!!!
I usually don't post my gestures, because I tend to get to life drawing late. Because I have trouble waking up. But today I was up early, and I got there on time, and I did a butt load of gesture drawings.
Hey these are great, I go to do life drawing every week as well, but I don't get as inspired as you seem to when I'm doing it. I like how you caricaturize all of the models and still keep the fundamentals of there anatomy intact. I've never thought to do that for some reason(caricaturize the models I mean)!
I started really caricaturizing because I thought too myself, what's the point of drawing the model dead on when a photograph would be better? Besides I want to be able to push the pose to show a lot of different emotions, so best way to practice that, I feel, is too use not only what I see , but use my imagination to add more that what's really there.
You know what?...your dead on man! Maybe that's why life drawing has been so boring to me lately...it's all been done! I'm going to try doing some cartoonier more expressive interpretations of the models next week and if they come out cool I'll post em on my blog. Thanks man!
